Believe.

We hear that word every day.

“There can be miracles,” Mariah Carey sings, “when you believe…”

But have you ever really thought about what it means? And how it is your ultimate power?

First, check out how Mr. Webster defines this two-syllable verb:

1. to take as true, real

2. to have confidence in a statement or promise of (another person)

3. to have trust or confidence in as being true, real, good

Now think about my definition:

To believe means to KNOW, without the slightest pang of doubt, that something is real.

Even if it hasn’t happened yet. Or you can’t see it. And you have no physical proof that it even exists.
Perhaps the word “faith” works better for you in this context. Same difference.

But if you have any doubt that what you believe and dream and wish for and pray for — can show up live in Technicolor before your very eyes, then read on.

Because I just received the most glorious proof, and I want to shout it to the world.

For years, I have envisioned, in vivid and brilliant detail, one of my greatest desires.

God, the Universe and all the angels delivered that desire to me, just in time for Christmas, wrapped in a big, red bow.

More beautiful, even, than I believed this gift would be.

No, I’m not tellin’ yet what the gift is.

Because what I want you to know is — even if you have no evidence that your dreams and wishes and prayers will be answered — believe that they will be. Never doubt, never question, just KNOW.

And one day, out of the blue, boom!

It’s yours for the taking.

Not to get religious on you, but this ask-believe-receive magic is best expressed by Matthew in the Bible: “Whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” That’s my favorite line in the whole Book.

I will reveal my gift another day. For you, the gift could be your dream job, a sports car, a boat, a soul mate, a book deal, a winning lottery ticket, a new house, a slender/sculpted body, better health… whatever you truly believe, you can have.

Then you will join me in marveling at the beauty and uniqueness and authenticity of our beliefs-come-true.

Because these most precious gifts come straight from Heaven.

So I want you to know that when you believe, you WILL receive.

And it will be mind-blowingly better than you never even imagined!
